Another record day for UP coronavirus cases

MARQUETTE, MI--   Ninety-three new COVID-19 cases were added to the Upper Peninsula’s total Thursday.

The numbers per county are as follows:

  • Baraga-5
  • Delta-18
  • Dickinson-9  
  • Houghton-26
  • Iron-14
  • Luce-1
  • Marquette-4
  • Menominee-16

No deaths were reported Thursday.
The Upper Peninsula is now at risk level ‘D’ – the second-highest in the state’s new risk identification system. The U.P. has more than 70 cases per million people.

As of Thursday afternoon a total of 1,840 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the U.P. Twenty-six people have died.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
