Arrest made in Hancock stabbing

HANCOCK, MI--   A Hancock woman faces assault charges, following a stabbing incident in the city last Friday. 

Police were called to Summit Street around 7:50 a.m. and found a 57-year-old man with stab wounds around his left shoulder.  He was taken to UP Health System Portage for treatment of his injuries.

The 41-year-old woman was arrested and lodged in the Houghton County Jail.  Her identity is being withheld, pending arraignment.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
