Arrest made in Ironwood fire

IRONWOOD, MI--   An Ironwood woman has been arrested in connection with a fire at a city business Sunday. 

At 5:35 p.m. firefighters responded to the Pines Café on Suffolk Street and found fire on the second floor of the building.

One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

After an investigation by Fire Marshal Brandon Snyder a 24-year-old woman has been charged with arson, preparation to burn a dwelling and killing/torturing an animal.

She remains lodged in the Gogebic County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
