Authority wants your Bridge Walk memories

Detroit Free Press

ST. IGNACE, MI (AP)--   The Michigan Department of Transportation and the Mackinac Bridge Authority are asking members of the public to share their Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk experiences on social media with photos and videos.

One of those who share a memory will be chosen at random to receive a tour to the top of the Mackinac Bridge.

It's the second year in a row MDOT and the bridge authority have held the promotion.

Members of the public are invited to post memories through Sept. 9, of walking the bridge, either this year or in a previous year, on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag "MightyMacWalk13."

Facebook postings won't be considered.

Last year, Michael Gronseth of Negaunee was chosen at random to win a free tour of the bridge.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
