ESCANABA, MI-- Officials in Escanaba are investigating a barn fire.
The Department of Public Safety responded Sunday around 2:20 a.m. to 2905 8th Avenue South on a report of a structure fire. Firefighters found a barn behind the house engulfed in flames. A short time after they arrived, the barn collapsed. They were on the scene for approximately 2.5 hours before the scene was cleared.
The barn and its contents are a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
