Bay City woman going to prison for AuTrain Township home invasion

MUNISING, MI--   A downstate woman has been sentenced for her part in an Alger County home invasion case earlier this year.

Samantha Menerey, 21, of Bay City was one of two people who entered the County Road 440 home of Alan Miron, 19, on March 13.  She and Richard Van Pelt, 29, tied Miron up, beat him, and took property.

Menerey was charged with first-degree home invasion and armed robbery.  She was sentenced Wednesday in Alger County Circuit Court to four to 20 years in prison.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
