AUTRAIN TOWNSHIP, MI-- It’s a sad ending for a missing Alger County man.
John Hongisto, 69, of Christmas was reported missing last Wednesday. His body was discovered Friday near Buckbay Road and M-94 in AuTrain Township. Hongisto’s truck was found several hours earlier.
Officials say it appears Hongisto was walking to a nearby berry patch when he suffered a medical event. There were no signs of foul play.
