Buck sentenced for Breitung Township crash

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   An Iron Mountain man charged in a Breitung Township traffic crash last Christmas eve has been sentenced.

Rodney Buck, 58, attempted to turn onto US-141 from Breitung Cutoff Road and pulled into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by a Channing woman. Only minor injuries were reported.

Buck was charged with operating under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana—both misdemeanors. He pleaded no contest to both in April. Buck was sentenced Wednesday to 25 days in jail and 6 months of probation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
