Building hit in 3-vehicle Iron Mountain accident

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash in Iron Mountain Wednesday.

Police say it happened around 1:35 p.m. on US-2 at East Hughitt Street. An SUV stopped at the stop sign was waved into the intersection by another vehicle stopped for backed up traffic on the highway. The SUV hit two vehicles that were southbound on US-2. One of the vehicles hit and damaged the side of the Antonio’s Pizza and Pasta building.

The driver of the SUV was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
