MARQUETTE, MI-- Three Upper Peninsula municipalities have received grants through the state’s expanded Match on Main program.
Community-based organizations can apply for funding to help recover revenue lost in the COVID-19 crisis. The expanded program waives the matching prerequisite for small businesses, which is required to receive funding under the traditional Match on Main program.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation says resources are now going to existing businesses instead of helping to open new businesses.
Main Street Calumet, the City of Marquette and the Sault Ste. Marie Downtown Development Authority have each received $50,000. Nearly 50 businesses will benefit from the program.
