Cambensy takes oath of office

LANSING, MI--   Michigan’s 109th House District now has a Representative.

Democrat Sara Cambensy took the oath of office in Lansing Thursday. She won a special election and is serving out the term left vacant by the late John Kivela. That term runs through 2018.

Cambensy previously served as Marquette City Commissioner from 2012 until this month.

The 109th House District serves Alger, Luce, Schoolcraft, and most of Marquette counties. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
