Chocolay Police celebrate Officer of the Year

HARVEY, MI--   Marquette County has named its Officer of the Year.

Patrolman Anthony Carrick of the Chocolay Police Department was honored Monday night.  He made 45 drunk and drugged driving arrests last year, which helped the department reach the rank of tenth in the state for such arrests per capita.

Carrick has been with the department for the past five years.  It’s the fourth time Marquette County officials have honored a Chocolay officer with Officer of the Year.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
