Comments welcome on Heritage Trail draft plan

MARQUETTE, MI--   A draft of the Iron Ore Heritage Trail five year plan is now available for review.

The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority is responsible for operating and maintaining the 47-mile trail that stretches from Republic Township to Chocolay Township. The new recreation plan aims to guide the authority over the next five years. Chair Jim Thomas says trail users and citizens were surveyed and their wishes were incorporated.

Residents are urged to view and comment on the plan. It’s available at member municipal offices and public libraries, including those in Ishpeming, Negaunee, and Marquette.

You can send comments to ironoreheritage@gmail.com or call 906-235-2923.
