Cops shift theory, believe all 3 family deaths were murder

DELTA TOWNSHIP, MI (AP)--   Authorities near Lansing are changing their theory of the deaths of two kids and their father.

The Eaton County sheriff's office now says all three likely were murder victims.

Detectives don't believe it was a murder-suicide on April 13. Three-year-old Anson Zwick, 5-year-old Vivian Zwick and their dad, Joseph Lechleitner, were shot at the children’s home in Delta Township. Lechleitner was from the Shingleton area.

The sheriff’s office had pinned the blame on Lechleitner immediately after the deaths. Neighbors say the children lived with their mother and that Lechleitner visited about once a month.

No arrests have been made. Investigators don't believe it was a random act of violence.
