UP coronavirus cases cross 10 thousand mark

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Upper Peninsula surpassed 10,000 coronavirus cases Wednesday.

Another 275 cases were confirmed, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 10,033 since the pandemic began. The number per county is as follows:

  • Baraga-12
  • Chippewa-14
  • Delta-43
  • Dickinson-53
  • Gogebic-3
  • Houghton-21
  • Iron-14
  • Keweenaw-1
  • Luce-2
  • Mackinac-4
  • Marquette-68
  • Menominee-28
  • Ontonagon-2
  • Schoolcraft-2

No deaths were reported.
As of Wednesday afternoon 188 people had died of COVID-19.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
