Court date set for Houghton County home invasion suspect

HOUGHTON, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for a Houghton County man charged with breaking into a Duncan Township camp and stealing items. 

CamielVanhaecke, 49, of South Range is charged with second-degree home invasion and possession of burglar’s tools.  He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted as charged. 

Vanhaecke remains lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a $250,000 bond.  His preliminary exam is set for July 1.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
