COVID-19 lingers in the Upper Peninsula

MARQUETTE, MI--   Officials added 135 new COVID-19 cases Monday to the U.P. count, which includes Sunday numbers.  

The number per county is as follows:

  • Alger-7
  • Delta-19
  • Dickinson-44
  • Gogebic-2
  • Houghton-15
  • Iron-6
  • Keweenaw-1
  • Mackinac-10
  • Marquette-14
  • Menominee-11
  • Ontonagon-4
  • Schoolcraft-2

Eight deaths were reported: one in Delta County, one in Houghton and six in Iron County.
As of Monday afternoon a total of 3,470 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the Upper Peninsula. Fifty-eight people have died.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
