Crash damages Ely Township house

ELY TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Ely Township home was damaged, after a pickup truck went off the road and onto private property.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 7:15 Tuesday night on County Road 581.  Deputies say a Chevy Silverado driven by David Schneider, 29, of Ishpeming left the roadway and struck a parked pickup truck.  The truck then hit a mobile home and parked Corvette owned by Terry Mattila. Both trucks were totaled.  The Corvette and house suffered moderate damage.

Officials say evidence at the scene suggests a medical issue caused Schneider to black out while he was driving.

No one was injured in the crash.
