Current U.P. coronavirus case count

MARQUETTE, MI--   Ninety-nine positive COVID-19 cases and six deaths were added to the Upper Peninsula’s tally Tuesday.

The number per county is as follows:

  • Alger-3
  • Baraga-3
  • Chippewa-3
  • Delta-18
  • Dickinson-9
  • Gogebic-2
  • Houghton-8
  • Iron-3
  • Keweenaw-1
  • Luce-3
  • Mackinac-1
  • Marquette-28
  • Menominee-10
  • Ontonagon-2
  • Schoolcraft-5 

Two deaths were reported in Delta County, one in Dickinson, two in Iron and one in Marquette County.
At Marquette Branch Prison 350 active inmate cases are reported and 143 staff are confirmed positive.

As of Tuesday afternoon a total of 5,280 cases have been lab-confirmed in the U.P. and 106 people have died.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
