DCHS names interim CEO and CRO

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   The Dickinson County Healthcare System Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of two top officials.

Jeanne Goche has been named the hospital’s interim Chief Executive Officer and Dennis Smith the Chief Restructuring Officer.

Venable, LLP partner Bart Stupak made the recommendations. He said Goche has positively impacted several rural health systems faced with similar financial challenges. He said Smith has had success growing and leading the Upper Peninsula Health Plan based in Marquette, and has knowledge of insurance reimbursements and other pressing matters affecting DCHS.

Although former CEO John Schon’s retirement is effective December 31, Goche will begin her duties immediately and will be solely responsible for daily decisions at DCHS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
