DDA cancels downtown Marquette events

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Downtown Development Authority says it’s canceling several summer events.

The Blueberry Festival scheduled for July 31; Classic Cars on Third set for August 15; and the June 18 and July 16 editions of Music on Third have all been suspended. Vendors and businesses who have already registered for the Blueberry Festival will have their registration fees refunded.

Officials say they’re saddened to make these decisions, but they feel they’re for the health and safety of the community.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
