Dickinson County seeing more coronavirus cases

KINGSFORD, MI--   A second presumptive positive case of COVID-19 is being reported in Dickinson County.

The Iron-Dickinson Health Department was notified by a commercial lab of the case on Monday. The test was administered through a provider clinic.

The person is identified as an adult female with contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case. Close contacts of the individual are being notified. No additional information about the person will be disclosed.

Health officials are urging the community to adhere to the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order and practice social distancing if residents have to go out.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
