Domestic violence case lands Chippewa County man in jail

KINROSS, MI--   A Kinross man faces felony charges from a domestic violence incident on Saturday.

Troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie Post responded around 8:30 p.m. to a residence in the area of M-80 near Lakeview Road in Chippewa County. The 42-year-old suspect allegedly assaulted someone he was living with and tried to prevent the victim from calling 911.

The man was arrested for aggravated domestic violence, tampering with electronic communications and for violating a personal protection order. He was lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
