Driver hits patrol car in Marquette County

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   A suspected drunken driver faces arraignment after crashing into a parked State Police car in Chocolay Township.  

Friday around 11:30 p.m. a trooper from the Negaunee Post was sitting in his patrol car on M-28 near Kawbawgam Road during a traffic stop when a driver hit the left rear corner of his vehicle.  Both vehicles were damaged but no one was injured. 

The alleged drunken driver was arrested and lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  No names will be released until the driver is arraigned in Marquette County District Court.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
