EAS funding to continue for Escanaba airport

ESCANABA, MI--   The Delta County Airport will offer Essential Air Service flights to Detroit for another two years.

Congressman Jack Bergman says the U.S. Department of Transportation has re-selected SkyWest Airlines—branded as Delta Connection—to serve Escanaba. The airport will offer 12 nonstop round trips per week to Detroit Metropolitan Airport using a 50 passenger Canadair regional jet.

The new, two-year contract runs from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020.

Bergman says airports throughout the First District depend on Essential Air Services to help them boost industry, economic stability, tourism, and mobility in the Upper Peninsula and throughout the district.
