Escanaba man pleads to meth charge

ESCANABA, MI--   Sentencing is set for an Escanaba man who pleaded guilty to a meth-related charge.

Robert Jones, 52, and two others were arrested in March after they purchased components used to make meth.  A search of a North 16th Street residence resulted in the seizure of various meth-related components.

Jones was charged with manufacturing meth and conspiracy to manufacture meth.  He pleaded guilty Wednesday to operating and maintaining a meth lab. 

Sentencing is scheduled for July 26 in Delta County Circuit Court.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
