ESCANABA, MI-- The City of Escanaba is conducting fire flow testing on seven area hydrants Thursday.
Officials say they’re hopeful the activity will not create rusty water in residents’ homes. If water does become discolored they say crews will quickly purge the system. In order to do that, crews will need to flush rusty water from the main until it clears.
Any resident who has discolored water should wait an hour before flushing their own service line. If the water still contains rust after 20 minutes of flushing a residential line, please contact the water plant.
Questions and concerns can be directed to the City of Escanaba Water Department at 786-3291.
