MARQUETTE, MI-- Deer hunting in the Upper Peninsula should be slightly better this fall than last year.
The Department of Natural Resources released its 2020 Deer Hunting Preview and Regional Outlook Thursday. It says the U.P. herd seemed to fare well last winter. That, coupled with a good spring and excellent summer growing season, has officials anticipating good numbers.
Hunters will see several regulation changes this year. Declines in hunter numbers, an increase in herd size and management of deer diseases required some significant changes.
