Fatal fall near Hungarian Falls

TORCH LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Indiana man fell to his death in Torch Lake Township Monday.

State Police from the Calumet Post were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. to Hungarian Falls on a report that a man had fallen while sightseeing with his family. Officers say Lloyd Gremaux, 83, slipped and fell about 80 feet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers were assisted by the Bootjack and Dollar Bay First Responders, the Hubbell Fire Department, and Calumet Township Fire and Rescue.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
