Firefighters battle Iron Mountain blaze

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   Fire has damaged an Iron Mountain residence.

The city fire department was sent to the 900 block of 6th Street Tuesday just after 8 p.m. and found the attached garage fully engulfed. Heavy smoke filled the home and attic space.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, but the house—especially the attic—suffered smoke and water damage.

All three occupants were able to get out of the house without injury.

Firefighters were on the scene until about 1 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
