Former officers busted for conspiracy to deliver-manufacture drugs

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two former Marquette Police officers have been arrested on drug charges.

Detectives from the Michigan State Police, Eighth District, Special Investigation Section say warrants were approved for Richard Neaves, 31, of Marquette and Todd Collins, 36, of Negaunee following a three-month investigation. Both were arrested November 21 for conspiracy to deliver/manufacture a controlled substance and using a computer to commit a crime.

Neaves and Collins were apparently K9 handlers with the Marquette Police Department. Collins resigned from the force December 2. Neaves resigned in 2018 to take a job at the Negaunee Police Department. It’s unknown if he was still working there at the time of his arrest.
