GIANT meth investigation nets Ironwood man

IRONWOOD, MI--   An Ironwood man was arrested after the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team executed a search warrant in the city Tuesday. 

Police say the investigation focused primarily on crystal meth distribution in Michigan and Wisconsin.

During the search officers uncovered crystal meth, prescription medication and an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers arrested a 52-year-old man and lodged him in the Gogebic County Jail. He remains lodged on a $100,000 cash bond.

The investigation has been forwarded to the Gogebic County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Additional charges are expected.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
