Gladstone girl missing

UPDATE, 9/25/13, 6 am:  Officials say Helwig-Hoffman has been found safe.  She was located Tuesday night.  Circumstances of her disappearance will not be divulged because of her status as a juvenile.  The case remains under investigation.

GLADSTONE, MI--   Gladstone Public Safety officers are looking for a girl who’s been reported missing from the area.  

They say Sabrina Helwig-Hoffman, 15, of Gladstone is 5’5” and 100 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes, and braces.  She was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt with pink lettering, light-colored jeans, and possibly sandals. 

Helwig-Hoffman was last seen Monday around 8:15 p.m. near Subway.  She had possibly made comments about harming herself after her boyfriend broke up with her. 

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call Gladstone Public Safety at 428-3131 or 911.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
