Gogebic County man who hit deputy charged

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI-- The man accused of hitting a Gogebic County Sheriff’s deputy with his car has been arraigned.

Ryan Alessandroni, 35, of Ironwood Township is charged with 4^th degree fleeing a police officer, assaulting a police officer, failing to use due care when passing a stationary emergency vehicle—causing injury to emergency personnel, and a misdemeanor charge of operating while intoxicated.

Last Friday Alessandroni allegedly drove through an accident scene on Vanderhagen Road. He tried to get around a wrecker when he struck a sheriff’s deputy in the torso and spun him around. Alessandroni was arrested after a short pursuit.

The deputy was treated and released from Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.
