Hancock gun theft suspect enters plea

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Finlandia Uuniversity student charged in connection with the theft of guns from a Hancock store in December has entered a plea in the case.

Jake Hugall, 19, pleaded guilty this week to larceny of a firearm.  In exchange, a charge of breaking and entering with intent was dropped.

Sentencing will be held within the next four weeks.  Hugall could be sentenced under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act, which means his record could be expunged if he completes probation successfully.
