Houghton County man jailed for camp B&E

HOUGHTON, MI--   A South Range man has been arrested in connection with the breaking and entering of a Duncan Township camp in southern Houghton County. 

Tuesday troopers from the Calumet Post executed search warrants on several locations in Houghton and Baraga Counties and seized numerous items from the sites.  During the search they made contact with the 49-year-old suspect, arrested him in Baraga, and took him to the Houghton County Jail.

Officials have identified some of the owners of the property that was seized. 

The incident remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
