Ice-covered roads contribute to multi-car crash in Delta County

HYDE, MI--   A three-vehicle accident in Delta County has injured four people.

Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened Wednesday on US-2 & 41 near the Ford River Bridge in Hyde.  A westbound 58-year-old man lost control of his vehicle on the icy road and hit an eastbound vehicle driven by a 29-year-old woman.  His car then struck another eastbound vehicle driven by a 57-year-old man head-on.

Two of the drivers and a passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to St. Francis Hospital.  The third driver sought his own treatment.  Deputies say the injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
