Ingallston Township house fire claims man's life

INGALLSTON TOWNSHIP, MI--   A man has died in a Menominee County house fire.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Ingallston Township Tuesday around 3:15 p.m. They found flames coming from the basement and engulfing the building. Officials were told the homeowner was still inside.

Firefighters from the Menominee-Ingallston Township Fire Department and Mellen Township Fire Department battled the blaze. When they entered the house they discovered a man inside. He was taken to Aurora Medical Center Bay Area in Marinette, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
