Injuries reported in Chatham accident

CHATHAM, MI--   Two people are hospitalized, following an Alger County accident in which a passenger van hit a semi.

Michigan State Police say the crash happened Thursday around 4 p.m. at the intersection of M-94 and Forest Lake Road, near Chatham.  An eastbound van apparently swerved and hit the semi, spun around, and went into the ditch.

The van’s driver was airlifted to U.P. Health System Marquette.  A passenger was taken to Marquette by ambulance.  The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
