Injuries reported in Chocolay Township crash

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   Snow-covered roads and whiteout conditions are being blamed for a two-vehicle accident on Green Garden Road in Chocolay Township.

Police say around 8:50 Wednesday morning a northbound pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old Skandia man crossed the centerline and hit a southbound pickup driven by a 68-year-old Marquette man head-on.

Both drivers and passengers were taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment of what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The Skandia man was cited for driving left of center.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
