Injuries reported in Ishpeming crash

ISHPEMING, MI--   Two people suffered injuries in an Ishpeming car accident Thursday.  

City Police say the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on US-41 at the intersection of North Second Street.  A Ford Windstar driven by a 28-year-old Marquette woman was eastbound on the highway when a Chevy Aveo driven by a 53-year-old Ishpeming woman made a left turn in front of the van. 

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The Marquette County Rescue Unit was called in to help extract one of the injured people.  Officials say their injuries were non-life-threatening. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
