Interview: Pine Mountain Music Festival 2019

pmmf.org

The Pine Mountain Music Festival (PMMF) was founded in Iron Mountain, Michigan, in 1991 by Laura Jean Deming, a cellist and member of the orchestra of Lyric Opera of Chicago. That first season was primarily chamber music, but by 1992 opera was being produced.  The festival primarily runs from mid to late June in Keweenaw, Marquette, and Dickinson counties in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Kurt Hauswirth spoke with Doug Day, the director of the Pine Mountain Music Festival, in its 29th season.

More information and the full schedule of Pine Mountain Music Festival for the 2019 season can be found at pmmf.org.

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
