Investigation continues into Escanaba semi crash

ESCANABA, MI--   Police continue to investigate the crash of a semi into an Escanaba overpass Friday.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 11:15 a.m. on US-2 & 41/M-35.

A 60-year-old Gwinn man was northbound in a semi and pulling a tandem trailer when he lost control in icy and slushy conditions.  The truck struck a viaduct near the entrance to NewPage, which caused the trailer to overturn.  The trailer blocked portions of both the northbound and southbound lanes for some time.

Officials say the semi driver refused treatment at the scene.
