Iron County officials search for suspects in logging equipment destruction

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   The Iron County Sheriff’s office is asking the public for help in identifying suspects in a malicious destruction of property complaint.

The incident occurred between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning on Federal Forest Road 3210 near the Smokey Lake Reserve. Two pieces of logging equipment were heavily damaged, rendering them useless. Police say the incident left the owners with large repair bills and lost wages due to the machines being inoperable.

Anyone who may have been in the area or has any information regarding the incident is asked to call the Iron County Sheriff’s Office at 906-875-0650.
