Ishpeming man charged in Marquette armed robbery

MARQUETTE, MI--  Marquette City Police have released the name of the man arrested for a Marquette robbery after a police standoff in Ishpeming Thursday.

Officials say Kirk Schultz of Ishpeming was one of four suspects for whom arrest warrants were issued following an armed robbery on the 500 block on N. Fourth Street in March.

Marquette Police, Ishpeming Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and Negaunee Police determined Schultz was in a house on the 2100 block of Prairie Avenue Thursday.  When the people inside wouldn’t open the door police obtained a search warrant and forced their way in.

Three other suspects in the robbery have already been arrested.  They include Daniel Ayotte, 21, Bobbie Joe Weymouth, 21, and Brandon Beaman, 19.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
