Jason Allen to make announcement in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   Former state senator Jason Allen will be in Marquette Thursday. 

A press release indicates the Republican will make an announcement regarding his future plans.  Those plans could include running for Dan Benishek’s current seat in the U.S. House.  Benishek indicated he won’t run for a third term.

Allen served the 37th District of the Michigan Senate from 2003 to 2010.  Before that he was a 104th District Representative for the state House from 1999 to 2002.  He currently serves as the senior policy advisor for the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.

Allen will make his announcement at 5 p.m. at the Marquette Commons.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
