Lansing man charged in Trout Lake killing

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   Police continue to investigate a homicide in Chippewa County.

Saturday around 4 p.m. Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post responded to a rental cabin in Trout Lake on a report of a shooting. They found Kevin Belonga, 51, of St. Ignace dead at the scene.

Troopers took one subject into custody.

Aaron Roberts, 34, of Lansing was arraigned Monday in 91st District Court on one count of homicide and one count of felony firearms. His bond is set at $100,000.

A probable cause hearing is set for August 23.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
