Man charged with intent to deliver meth and heroin after package intercepted

ONTONAGON, MI--   An Ontonagon man is jailed following a drug bust by UPSET last week.

Following a nine-month investigation, detectives arrested a 29-year-old man for possession with intent to deliver meth and possession with intent to deliver heroin.

UPSET developed information that the suspect had been selling meth in the Ontonagon area since last September and that he’d been receiving packages from Arizona. Detectives intercepted a package containing meth and heroin being sent to an address on Woodspur Road. The package was delivered and the suspect was arrested when he picked it up. Search warrants for his house and vehicle uncovered a digital scale, numerous electronics and paperwork indicating drug activity.

The case is being reviewed by the Ontonagon County Prosecutor’s office and additional charges are expected.
