Man falls asleep, crashes truck in Bergland Township

BERGLAND TOWNSHIP, MI--   A St. Ignace man suffered minor injuries in a crash in Ontonagon County Wednesday.

Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post say it happened around 9:10 a.m. at the intersection of M-28 and M-64. When troopers arrived they found Jonathan Kamyszek, 34, walking on the shoulder of the road. He said he’d been northbound on M-64 when he fell asleep. He awoke when he crossed M-28. His pickup truck crashed into a wooded area and drove about 50 feet into the tree line.

Kamyszek complained of a sore back. He was taken to Aspirus Hospital for treatment and later released.

The crash remains under investigation.
