Man gets stuck in, shoots Hancock snow bank

HANCOCK, MI--   A Hancock man has been arrested for shooting a snow bank.

The Keweenaw Report says gunshots were reported on the 1200 block of Ingot Street shortly after midnight Tuesday. When Hancock Police arrived they found a vehicle stuck in a snow bank and a 37-year-old man standing outside it. Officers also reportedly found numerous bullet casings on the ground. It appears the driver—who was intoxicated—had fired several shots into the snow bank.

Officers discovered a Glock 9 mm pistol in the vehicle.

The man was lodged in the Houghton County Jail. A report on the incident has been forwarded to the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
